Quick Start (One Tap)
The fastest way to disable the YouTube app and website on your child’s iPad.
1) Install MindGuard
Download MindGuard on the child’s iPad and open the app.
2) Complete Setup
Follow the guided setup. Grant the required permissions when prompted.
3) Toggle “Block YouTube”
Open MindGuard → Apps → turn on Block YouTube. This disables the app and youtube.com instantly.
4) Test
Try opening the YouTube app or site to confirm it’s blocked.
Optional: Extra Domain Filtering
MindGuard already blocks the app and primary site. Add extras if you need belt-and-suspenders.
Common YouTube Hosts
Add domains like youtube.com
, youtu.be
, and googlevideo.com
under Custom URLs if your child uses embedded players.
Shorts & Embeds
If Shorts or embedded videos appear in other apps, block youtube-nocookie.com
or similar CDNs as needed.
Troubleshooting
A few quick checks if anything slips through.
Restart after first setup
A quick reboot ensures all background protections are active.
Confirm profile & permissions
Reopen MindGuard and verify the setup checklist shows “All set”.
Check Wi-Fi vs. Cellular
Ensure blocking applies on both networks. Custom URL rules cover edge cases.
